“YOU-NESS”

                              Read it, please

Being authentic means not forcing your identity on other people. Above all, it's about becoming the best version of yourself—the one that makes you feel content, liberated, and joyful. They have been hammering home this point nonstop virtually since our birth. This is something that we learn from our parents, educators, closest friends, and even the marketing and advertising industry. We even wear t-shirts with this on them, in fact.

In actuality, we have evolved into a society where people easily define themselves on social media. But rather than describing who we actually are, we usually turn to meaningless and general descriptions to convey who we ought to be. Furthermore, we don't do it because we don't always know how. Additionally, we live in a world where external conditioning rules the majority of the time.

To blend in is our goal. Our goal is to blend in with the surroundings. Our authenticity and even psychological well-being are taken away by our yearning for love and acceptance. It is therefore quite difficult for us to dare to be ourselves in all our essence in a culture that is virtually always accustomed to pointing out individuals who think, feel, or act in a distinctive and different way.

In a world where digital, online happiness and unmatched beauty and attractiveness through filters count most, revealing our genuine selves is a huge problem.
